Engr. George Chukwulewa Okoroma, FNSE, FAEng, JP, is a distinguished civil engineer, entrepreneur, infrastructure development expert, and institutional leader with over four decades of professional experience in engineering practice, project management, business development, and public service.
He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gambeta Groupe Limited, a diversified organization with interests in engineering and technical consulting services, oil and gas (EEPIC), project management, transport and logistics, information technology, hospitality, manpower development, and real estate.
Under his leadership, the organization has successfully delivered numerous infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, industrial facilities, shipping berths, warehouses, and residential developments across Nigeria.
A highly respected figure within the engineering profession, Engr. Okoroma has made significant contributions to the advancement of engineering practice and institutional development both nationally and internationally.
In May 2026, he achieved a historic milestone by becoming President of FIDIC Africa, the continental body representing consulting engineering associations across Africa.
His emergence as President followed nearly a decade of dedicated service within the organization, having served as Executive Committee Member, Honorary Treasurer, Deputy President, and President-Elect.
At the national level, he served as the 18th President of the Association for Consulting Engineering in Nigeria (ACEN), where he successfully led the association through the challenges of the COVID-19 era by pioneering a transition to digital operations, earning recognition as ACEN’s “Digital President.”
He has also served as a Council Member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and Chairman of the COREN South-South Regional Steering Committee.

As the Chief Founding Patron of the School Children’s Vision Detection and Referral Initiative (SCVDRI), he provides strategic leadership, mentorship, and institutional support for programmes aimed at improving child eye health, enhancing educational outcomes, and promoting sustainable school-based vision screening and referral services.
His commitment to SCVDRI reflects his conviction that no child should be disadvantaged academically, socially, or developmentally because of preventable or undetected vision problems.
Through his leadership and advocacy, the initiative continues to advance efforts toward ensuring that children have the visual health support necessary to learn effectively and reach their full potential.
